Rob Wylie is a ‘fan’ who gets autographs from footballers so that he can sell the merchandise on the internet.
According to reports on Twitter, from multiple Liverpool fans and sources, he’s notorious for going round plenty of clubs and stopping cars to get players to sign things, which has actually been banned outside Melwood now purely because of his relentless behaviour.
Yesterday, a video went viral which shows Salah stuck in traffic ignoring a man that appears to be Wylie, being abused by the autograph hunter behind a camera phone. The Egyptian now faces a driving charge for using his phone behind the wheel, even though his vehicle is in traffic – and the club has unfortunately had to take action and help the police investigation (although we can imagine they’ve explained why they’ve been forced into the situation internally).

But below, you’ll also see a video of allegedly the same man harassing Henrikh Mkhitaryan last season:

Twitter has named and shamed him, as it usually does in these situations, with many fans telling their own stories about Wylie:

Video going round of Salah refusing to roll down his window to Rob Wylie. Rob Wylie is the reason the club banned autographs from vehicles. He sends kids into traffic to harass players for autographs, takes the stuff and sells it online. Been doing it for years, hence the new ban

The guys is Rob Wylie, and a United fan (I think.) He is well known for harassing footballers to make them sign shirts etc. He then sells the shirts & makes money off it. Vids of Mkhitaryan and Pep Guardiola both refusing to sign things for him went round last year.

Wylie has admitted taking the video, but denied being with any children hunting for signatures at the time.
“Those claiming that I sent the video to the police because I was angry that Mo did not sign any autographs are liars and guilty of slander,” he wrote on Facebook.
“Those claiming I was with children at the time are liars. I was with one other adult at the time. There were other children present but none known to me.”
