Xabi Alonso : Deal Done, the fee is officially undisclosed but word is that it is around £30 million. Not bad considering we got 5 years of excellent service from a player Rafa bought for £10.5 million. Good luck Xabi.

Alberto Aquilani : Right now Alberto is looking as the possible replacement for Xabi. Italian media is reporting that Roma & Liverpool have agreed to a fee of £18 million. If this is true that will leave Rafa with enough money to go after another quality player.

Steven Defour : The Standard Leige player is also being linked with Liverpool as claimed by his agent.

Christian Poulson : If the Italian or the Belgian does not work out Rafa might decide to go Danish. The Juventus player is also being linked to Liverpool.

Lucas Biglia :Another name floated around the rumour mill is this young Argentinian. I do not know who this guy is but sorry we already have a Lucas. There is only ONE LUCAS.

David Silva : Yep his name is floating down the river of rumours and gossip again. Doubt that we could snatch him.

Sylvain Distin : Back in the news again, Rafa might also spend the extra cash to bring him to Anfield.

  1. It’s a shame Xabi Alonso left. He was good. Real Madrid are getting all the players now. The only Real transfer I’m happy about is the 80m Ronaldo move. I’m glad he’s left the Prem – but the thing I’m annoyed about is the money. He’s not worth 80m! In my opinion, he’s worth about 1p.

  2. look for swiss international and udinese star Gokhan Inler to join the rumours… i prefrer him to aquilani although i think both would do well… rafa sees inler as the more durable playmaker to sit in the midfield in front of masch and behind gerrard, the roll is a relatively simple one, xabi just did it soooo well… i stand by rafa and his choices expect either inler or aquilani and turner or distin depending on prices…

    cheers,
    Rhys
