Veteran lauds Norwegian wonderkid who’s on trial with Reds…

Kolo Toure has told Norwegian journalists camped outside Melwood that wonderkid Martin Odegard impressed during his training session with the Liverpool first-team.

The 15-year-old, widely regarded as one of the best young talents in the world having already won international caps for Norway, visited Liverpool this week with a view to a potential transfer from Stromgodset.

Odegard also trained with the first-team, and was snapped having dinner with Coutinho, as the club ramps up attempts to woo the playmaker to Anfield.

“I met him. He is very a good player,” said Toure, reported by the Liverpool Echo.

“It was very good.”

Liverpool face immensely strong competition to sign Odegard however, with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich and Manchester City all aiming to secure the midfielder’s signature.

He’s a huge Liverpool fan, but confirmed last month that this wouldn’t affect his decision on which club to sign for.

“Liverpool have always been my dream club,” he said.

“But I will not let this affect my decision when I choose a new club.

“It’s all about finding the team that is best for me and for my development. That is not necessarily Liverpool.”
