According to Spanish publication Marca, often referred to as Real Madrid’s mouthpiece, Liverpool have had an approach for wonderkid Martin Odegard rebuffed by the European giants.
The Norwegian playmaker moved from Stromgodset to Los Blancos last January, despite multiple attempts from clubs all over the continent to capture the 16-year-old prodigy.
Odegard is a Liverpool fan and we invited him to a trial at the club (via Daily Mail), but the lure of Real Madrid eventually proved too much.

Steven Caulker’s Instagram post is the first step to cult-hero Liverpool status!
Unsurprisingly, he’s struggled for first-team minutes and has instead been forced to content himself with games for Real Madrid B. In fact, he’s made just one appearance for the senior side, coming off the bench at the very end of last season.
As a result, Marca claim Liverpool and specifically Jurgen Klopp sounded out Real Madrid regarding the player’s future, but in no uncertain terms, they told us he wasn’t for sale…
Despite the player’s enormous talent, he wouldn’t get too many opportunities at Liverpool right now either, so the preface of their story confuses us a little.
Still, we’ll watch the capped Norwegian’s progress with interest from afar, but can’t imagine Klopp is focussing his individual attention on teenagers right now who cannot actively boost his first-team.
