After an indifferent start to his Premier League career with West Ham United, there were a few raised eyebrows when Liverpool signed the promising Argentine youngster. Thankfully, he definitely didn’t disappoint. The defensive midfielder played an important role in leading the Reds to a second place finish and a Champions League final, before eventually departing for Barcelona, where he has enjoyed even more success.
