The Daily Mail have confirmed that Martin Skrtel has agreed terms on a Liverpool contract extension, although as of yet there’s been no official news from the club on the future of our defensive stalwart…

His agent Karol Csonto earlier admitted that his client had been talking to Inter Milan, but that he’d now agreed to stay on at Anfield instead of transfer away from the club he joined way back in 2008 from Zenit.

The Slovakian had 12 months left on his Anfield deal, and at 30-years-old, looks set to commit his best years as a centre-back to the club.

He’d previously blasted an ‘unacceptable’ offer from the club, but luckily, it now seems as if the two parties have reached a mutually beneficial agreement.
