Steven Gerrard is all set to wear the red of Liverpool once again…
Unfortunately, it’s only for a one-off legends game!
The Echo report that he will line up alongside some of our other club greats such as Jamie Carragher, Dietmar Hamann, John Arne Riise and Ian Rush for the game in Sydney in January – a match that takes place during the MLS off-season. The side will be managed by our treble-winning hero Gerard Houllier.
The legend divided opinions on Merseyside during his final season at the club; and while it’s true that he wasn’t anywhere near as good as he was during our historic 2013-14 campaign, it’s very difficult to ascertain how much of the poor performance was down to the player and how much was down to the implosion of Brendan Rodgers’ management techniques.
