Sturridge uses celebration message to promise Reds he’s ‘good to go’

Daniel Sturridge is on the comeback trail!

Again!

Following our victory over Leicester City at Anfield yesterday, the striker took to Twitter to tell Liverpool fans he’s ‘good to go’, as he continues his rehabilitation from injury.

The forward watched Divock Origi and Roberto Firmino start up top in a 4-4-2 yesterday, with Christian Benteke replacing the former and scoring the winning goal.

The return of Sturridge will be a welcome boost as Origi injured his hamstring, although as fans we’ve learnt not to rely on a continued stint from the Englishman.

Jurgen Klopp has already intimated that he’s being extra cautious with Sturridge (via the Telegraph), so don’t expect to see the striker starting against Sunderland on the 30th.

Still, a healthy Sturridge will be a wonderful gift for the New Year. We’ve just learned not to get our hopes up.
