Yesterday, an interview with El Hadji Diouf went viral, in which the former Liverpool player laid into Steven Gerrard and Jamie Carragher especially – which he seems to do roughly once every six months.

“The person I would least want to spend Christmas with is Jamie Carragher. I hate him. He was the biggest turkey I’ve seen on a pitch. I found him useless,” said Diouf, reported in the Telegraph.
As we all know, Carragher never pulled any punches on the pitch and he doesn’t do so as a pundit either, so we’ve been eagerly awaiting his response.
But the Champions League winning centre-back preferred to make a joke, claiming he’d rather be a turkey than a donkey – the animal he was occasionally compared to during his career as a result of his lack of pace!

By laughing the abuse off, Carragher has only made Diouf look all the more stupid.
We’d like to say that this should be the end of it, but with Diouf’s track record, he’ll likely just come back with something vulgar – the only thing he’s capable of.
