And yesterday evening, a picture of Ian Ayre at John Lennon airport started circling the web, with the CEO – having just returned from Florida in a failed attempt to thrash out a deal with Shakhtar for Alex Teixeira – looks set to jet off somewhere in Europe.

Judging by the departures board – he could only have been flying to Amsterdam, Barcelona and PSG!

Whatever Ayre was doing, or going – we have no idea – and despite multiple large Liverpool accounts circling the photos – we cannot confirm they’re not totally bogus either!
Joseph Musker, who writes for Di Marzio and has been first (and correct) with a few Liverpool stories recently, claims that the CEO will be in Norwich for the game.
Perhaps he was just flying down to East Anglia after all!
Ian Ayre will be in Norwich for the match on Saturday, not in Barcelona, Amsterdam or Paris.
