Are Liverpool actually going to sign Mario Gotze…?
It seemed crazily ambitious when the rumours first broke, but they’re just not going away, with German publication TZ claiming four days ago that Bayern Munich’s incoming manager Carlo Ancelotti has no interest in renewing the playmaker’s deal.
Now when asked about a potential summer switch to Merseyside, Gotze slyly told Sky Germany reporters, “You should ask Jurgen…”
(The source is in German, but we can assure you that’s what it says!)

In a day and age where players almost robotically claim they ‘don’t know what the future holds’ in terms of potential transfers, Gotze’s response suggests Liverpool’s, and his former manager Klopp’s interest, is very much real.
The World Cup winner made his name under Klopp at Borussia Dortmund, and has less than 18 months on his contract.
We’ve already got Coutinho, Adam Lallana and Roberto Firmino capable of playing anywhere in attacking midfield, but Gotze could be the jewell in the crown.
He’s as talented as any playmakers in the business, but he’s struggled to maximise his otherworldly potential in recent seasons.
If we snare Gotze, it’ll prove that the lure of Klopp has turned us into true players in the transfer market once again.
