Two wonderkid strikers linked to Liverpool – one English, one Colombian

Liverpool already have Daniel Sturridge, Christian Benteke, Divock Origi and Danny Ings on the books – with Roberto Firmino also capable of playing as a centre-forward – but if the papers are to be believed – some more young talent could be on its way…

First up, the Express today suggests that Charlton’s Ademola Lookman is on our radar. The 18-year-old plies his trade for Charlton Athletic, who’ve just been relegated from the Championship and are willing to cash in on the teenage striker.

Lookman is rated at £8m and is also interesting our Premier League rivals Tottenham, having bagged five league goals already.

Next, the Express also claim we’re after Marcelo Moreno, the striker tearing up trees in the Copa Libertadores for Atletico Nacional. However, our chances of acquiring him are low considering Benfica, Porto, Bayer Leverkusen and Inter Milan are all doing all they can to snap him up.

His agent Samuel Eladio Tamayo has been quick to speak up his client’s ability.

“We are talking about a future superstar of football. I do want to clarify a few aspects, though. In Europe there are several people talking to clubs about Marlos and they do not have the right to do so. The only ones who can talk about his future are me and [club owner] Humberto Quiceno,” he said.

In terms of strikers, we’re almost certain to offload Italian misfit Mario Balotelli to anyone who’ll take him, while Benteke’s future isn’t assured either. If the Belgian powerhouse does choose to depart for pastures new having so far failed to adapt to Jurgen Klopp’s tactics, there’s a chance we will bring in another – especially considering Sturridge’s injury record.
