Liverpool star ‘90% certain to leave’ says agent

Martin Skrtel’s agent is certain his client will leave Liverpool this summer, reports the Metro.
The Slovakian joined Liverpool way back in 2008, and despite being an automatic selection throughout the majority of his Anfield tenure, fell down Jurgen Klopp’s pecking order this season just gone.
Despite the fact Mamadou Sakho was banned for the Europa League Final, Skrtel still had to watch from the bench, with soon-to-be released veteran Kolo Toure starting ahead of him in the crunch clash in Basel – effectively the nail in the coffin of Skrtel’s Liverpool career.
“Besiktas is one of those interested in Martin, but we’re haven’t reached a point where I can confirm Martin is going there, or anywhere else,” Skrtel’s agent Csonto told TV Markiz in his homeland.

“But I can say that it is 90% sure Martin will leave Liverpool, but it is far from closed.”

Liverpool have already brought in Joel Matip on a free transfer, while wonderkid defender Joe Gomez should be returning to compete for a centre-back spot as well.

Even with the new arrivals, we’ll likely need one more centre-back signing, with Sakho’s suspension potentially keeping him out for up to a year.

Skrtel’s been a loyal servant, but it’ll definitely be beneficial for both parties for us to part ways. In recent seasons he’s become a defensive liability.
