World class striker considering Bayern snub to work under Klopp at Liverpool (Rumour)

Robert Lewandowski is unquestionably among the world’s best strikers at the moment, and has been phenomenal for Bayern Munich since his move from Borussia Dortmund. He has apparently become unsettled in the German capital though, and would relish a reunion with Jurgen Klopp at Liverpool, as reported by the Daily Mail.

The report suggests that the Polish superstar is no longer happy at Bayern Munich, and is looking for a move away before new boss Carlo Ancelotti takes over. His first choice would apparently be a switch to Real Madrid, but he’s also more than open to the idea of linking back up with either Pep Guardiola or Jurgen Klopp at Manchester City and Liverpool respectively.

While it’s hard to see Real Madrid turning down the chance to sign the 27-year-old, the Mail claim he’d be reluctant to make the switch unless Los Blancos were to sell one of their big names like Karim Benzema. Manchester City, meanwhile, already have Sergio Aguero, and it seems unlikely that he’d want to compete with the deadly Argentine either.

Unfortunately, as much as we might want to rationalise and explain exactly how this one could happen, there’s no denying that this is one of the most far-fetched rumours we’ve heard in a while.

Liverpool are still one of the biggest clubs in the world, but at the moment we’re understandably struggling to compete with the likes of Real Madrid, Bayern Munich, and Barcelona when it comes to attracting top quality players. Our lack of consistent Champions League football is obviously a huge factor, and unfortunately it’s hard to see Lewandowski arriving any time soon – even if there is a grain of truth in the Bayern exit links.

We’d love this one to be true, but despite the prolific front-man being a boyhood Liverpool fan (via the Daily Mail), we put no stock whatsoever in this highly questionable rumour.
