From Mario Gotze, to Sadio Mane to Andros Townsend – Liverpool’s transfer targets for the winger position are getting progressively less exciting.
The Telegraph last night claimed we were interested in the relegated attacker, who has a £10.5m release-clause with Newcastle.
Towsend’s form towards the end of last season was impressive, but the fact he toiled in Tottenham’s Under-21 side at the beginning of the campaign says much about his pedigree.
