Gonzalo Higuain is rapidly becoming one of the summer’s biggest “will he, won’t he” transfer sagas.

We started the off-season hopeful of snaring Bayern Munich’s Mario Gotze, and while it’s all gone quite on that front, the Higuain rumours simply refuse to go away.

After yesterday’s news that Higuain would not be accepting a new contract with current club Napoli (via SkySports), his agent has now been speaking about possible transfers.

Sadly for Reds fans, however, he appears to have ruled out a move to Liverpool – at least for now. If anything, he suggests a move to PSG is more likely.

“I’ve never talked about Gonzalo with other clubs as a matter of respect,” his brother and agent Nicola told Italian station Radio Crc.

“I’ve been in Argentina for a month, I was also in Paris to see PSG because I have other French players as clients and many friends in football, but now I see everywhere that I met [Jurgen] Klopp too but none of this is true

“I don’t need to talk about my brother with the Parisian club, if PSG want to talk they have to call (president Aurelio) De Laurentiis, not me.”

Higuain smashed in a club record 36 goals in 35 games for the Naples-based club last term.
