Arsenal open talks with striker – Klopp could miss out on target

Arsenal have opened talks with Napoli striker, Gonzalo Higuain.

According to Italian journalist Emanuele Giulianelli (cited in Mirror), Wenger has spoken with the front-man’s agent over the possibility of concluding a shock move for the 36-goal player.

The Argentine international – who finished as a runner-up in this summer’s Copa America – has reportedly snubbed a new deal from his current club due to disagreements about his release fee.

The current release fee stands at £78.9 million, but we think it’s unlikely any suitor would have to pay that much.

He bagged a record-breaking 36 goals in 35 games last season and would be a major coup for any Premier League side.

We were heavily linked with him in the Express  a month ago, but there has not been any further news from either the club or the player.

Do you think we need another forward with Balotelli and Benteke seemingly on their way out? Let us know…
