Sorry Liverpool fans.. Gonzalo Higuain transfer story rubbished by Echo

Posted by

This one’s dead before it really began, which I suppose, for all of our hearts, is good!

The Echo has confirmed that Liverpool have absolutely no interest in Gonzalo Higuain, despite the fact Jurgen Klopp watched Argentina’s Copa America clash with Chile last night.

Fans and journalists believed a story in beIN SPORTS which said a deal was imminent, backed up by the fact our manager was with Nicolas Higuain – the striker’s brother and agent – at the match.

But according to the Echo, this was merely coincidental, and Klopp’s just on holiday in America.

Granted, this is the kind of coincidence which often suggests a a transfer is in the pipeline, but in this instance, apparently not…

Higuain broke scoring records last term by plundering 36 Serie A goals for Napoli, but it appears we won’t be seeing the world-class Argentine at Melwood anytime soon.

With Daniel Sturridge, Divock Origi, Danny Ings, Christian Benteke and Roberto Firmino already on the books, this is understandable, and as fans – we patiently wait on for Liverpool to make their first truly exciting move in the transfer market this summer.
