Christian Benteke has accepted his time on Merseyside is coming to an end and is ready to discuss terms with Crystal Palace.

The frontman joined us in a £32.5 million move just 12 months ago, but a torrid season in front of goal saw him drop behind Sturridge, Origi, Ings, and Firmino in the pecking order.

His chance of getting serious game time in the new season became even more remote this week as we added Sadio Mane to our attacking arsenal.

According to the Mirror, the Belgian now accepts he needs to leave Liverpool and is prepared to move to the London club.

Pardew is keen to add a new striker this summer, and is supposedly prepared to smash Palace’s wage structure to offer Benteke most of the £140,000 per week that he’s getting with us.

It is understood Chelsea are also keen on making a move (via Mail).
