Christian Benteke is prepared to stay at Liverpool next season if the club cannot bring in a fee they are happy with.

According to the Guardian, we have rejected two offers from Crystal Palace and have been also approached by West Ham United.

The article claims Palace will not offer more than £27 million up front, while we are refusing to sell for less than £32.5 million – the exact fee we paid to Aston Villa 12 months ago.

Benteke is apparently aware of this and is now looking at adapting his style to Klopp’s plans and forcing his way into the first team.

It wouldn’t be terrible news if he stayed. Klopp doesn’t look like he’ll be bringing in another striker, and with Mario Balotelli on the way out, keeping Benteke around for those tough-to-break-down teams isn’t a bad thing.

He would, however, have to show considerably more effort, work-rate, and passion than he did last season if he is to win over the skeptical Liverpool fanbase.
