Brad Smith is about to board a plane back from the United States to England as he closes in on a £6 million move to Bournemouth.

According to the Echo, he will leave the States on Monday night local time, arriving back on this side of the Atlantic on Tuesday morning.

The paper reports that personal terms have already been agreed upon and he will put pen to paper as soon as the medical has been completed.

The 22-year-old made 11 appearances for the senior side last season – the most memorable of which was arguably in our 2-2 draw away at Exeter in the Third Round of the FA Cup. We were losing 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining, but Smith slammed home what would be his only goal for the club to force a replay back at Anfield.

We have a buyback clause which can be triggered at any time over the next two seasons.
