The 22-year-old made 11 appearances for the senior side last season – the most memorable of which was arguably in our 2-2 draw away at Exeter in the Third Round of the FA Cup. We were losing 2-1 with 15 minutes remaining, but Smith slammed home what would be his only goal for the club to force a replay back at Anfield.

We have a buyback clause which can be triggered at any time over the next two seasons.
