Mamadou Sakho will not be leaving Liverpool this summer, according to his agent.

There had been murmurings in the media during the last week – with the news of Sakho’s dismissal from the American tour providing plenty of fuel for transfer gossip.

However his agent, Niakate Housseyni, has moved to rubbish those suggestions.

“I have not had any contact with Roma,” he explained.

“He didn’t have an argument with his manager, Jurgen Klopp.

“So he’ll stay at Liverpool? Yes, he’s a Liverpool player. I don’t think Roma have that opportunity right now.” (via LaRoma24).

Sakho is currently receiving treatment on an Achilles injury and will miss the start of the new season against Arsenal in two weeks time.

He and Klopp will reportedly talk when the squad gets back to England after the summer tour. The final game of the tour is later today/tomorrow against Roma.
