Liverpool wonderkid hit by injury curse

Liverpool’s 18-year-old midfield gem Ovie Ejaria has injured his groin and will miss the rest of pre-season tour of America, the Echo reports.

The Nigerian prodigy has been one of the standout performers throughout our pre-season, rising to prominence due to his technical ability and physicality which belies his teenage years.

Unfortunately, Ejaria is now expected to be out for a few weeks after picking up the problem during a Jurgen Klopp training session.

Liverpool were ravaged by injuries last season, and have been unlucky this summer, too. Loris Karius will miss the start of the campaign with a broken hand, Mamadou Sakho’s achilles problem will also keep him out, while Marko Grujic, Joel Matip, Lucas Leiva and Joe Gomez have all also encountered problems.

Klopp’s appointed former Bayern fitness coach Andreas Kornmayer and nutritionist Mona Nemmer to the backroom staff in a bid to alleviate last term’s issues – but so far – it seems we’re simply getting unlucky again.
