“Woah, woah, woah. We’ve got the best midfield in the world. We’ve got Xabi Alonso, Momo Sissoko, Gerrard and Mascherano!”
What a chant. And what a midfield.
It didn’t last too long of course; Lucas arrived from Gremio and Momo Sissoko left for Juventus in 2008.
While all four are now entering the twilights of their careers, one of them – Sissoko – looks like he could be on the way back to the Premier League.
He is currently out of contract after leaving Chinese side Shanghai Shenhua earlier this season, and he will turn out for West Brom in a friendly against Delhi Dynamos on Saturday (via Mail).
According to the article, Hull City and Sunderland are also keen.
At just 31, Sissoko clearly still has something left in the tank – he won the French league title with PSG as recently as 2013.
Dare we say this — SIGN HIM UP JURGEN!! (and then sign the other three as well!)
