Gini Wijnaldum lifts the lid on how the players were feeling after Burnley loss

A defeat to a newly promoted side in just the second game of the season could be enough to rattle some teams.

We had just done ever so well to beat Arsenal away on the opening day, but the loss at Burnley allowed doubts and worries to set into the fanbase.

But Gini Wijnaldum has revealed the players were not concerned, they knew it was just a flash in the pan.

“Even after the draw with Tottenham or the game we lost at Burnley, I don’t want to say the feeling was good at that moment but we still had confidence and that shows that we have faith in each other.

“We were disappointed but it was not the end of the world, we had confidence after those two results.” (Echo)

He comments are borne out by the evidence.

Since that loss to Burnley we are unbeaten. We drew with Spurs at White Hart Lane then won four consecutive games against Leicester, Chelsea, Derby County, and Hull City.

That horror show against Burnley is nothing but a distant memory, serving to remind everyone of the dangers of not being at absolutely 100 percent in every game.

Next up is Swansea in a few hours. How do you see us performing? Let us know in the comments.
