Jurgen Klopp tells fans how he will try and approach Man Utd clash

Jurgen Klopp has been talking about our game against Man Utd. We go head-to-head with Jose Mourinho’s men for the first time this season on Monday night at Anfield.

So far Klopp has a record of Played 3, Won 1, Drawn 1, Lost 1 against United. The loss came in the league last January, with the other two results coming in the last 16 of the Europa League when we dumped them out with a 3-1 aggregate win.

“I know it’s a very important game,” Klopp said. “I know about the history. I like the special stories around these games,” he said (Echo).

“I think the whole world will watch. We have the big honour to be part of it. It’s up to us to perform to our best.

“My first Premier League game against United was a good game. We didn’t play too bad but we lost because Wayne Rooney scored.

“Then we had this nice opportunity to play them in Europe for the first time in the unbelievable history of these two great clubs. That was a real challenge and we enjoyed it. I’ll try to do that again – enjoy it.” (Echo)

Liverpool fans will be hoping he can inflict a second defeat on them under the floodlights. We are undoubtedly in the better form of the two. They won their first three games against poor opposition but have floundered since, losing to Man City and picking up just four points from their last four games.
