The two sides were going through their usual pre-match formalities of handshakes and photographs, but it seems our leading mascot wasn’t interested in giving his opposite number the satisfaction of an embrace!

You’ll notice he was more than happy to shake the hands of the West Brom players. We’re not sure whether this was error on the kid’s part, an elaborate prank, or that West Brom’s mascot simply wasn’t a big enough star for him to waste his time with!

The game itself is approaching the ten-minute mark. We have enjoyed the better of the opening exchanges; Sadio Mane had a decent shout for a penalty and Adam Lallana saw a rasping drive blocked by the defence.
