Karius set to be dropped – Mignolet will start against Spurs

Posted by

Simon Mignolet will get a chance to reassert his claim for a place in the starting XI tomorrow night when we play Spurs in the League Cup at Anfield.

In what is expected to be a much-changed side, the Belgian stopper will be reinstated behind the back four. A strong performance could give the boss a real headache for the league game away at Palace next weekend.

Mignolet played every game at the start of the season, but has not seen any first team action since our 2-1 win over Chelsea in the middle of September.

“His chance [to play] is at 100%, he has a good chance. That’s if nothing happens in training but he will play 100%,” said Klopp (Echo).

Karius has now played the last four league and is looking increasingly confident and assured. We’ve taken 10 points from 12 since he came into the side.
