Gini Wijnaldum lavishes praise on exceptional young midfield trio

Gini Wijnaldum has been speaking to the official site in the aftermath of our 2-1 win over Spurs on Tuesday night.

He used the chance to lavish praise on Ovie Ejaria, Marko Grujic, and Kevin Stewart. Wijnaldum played as part of a diamond with the three and was mightily impressed with what he saw.

“You see a lot of young players when they come into the first team and play a big game, they are nervous and you don’t see their quality immediately,” he said.

“I don’t know if they were nervous but it didn’t seem like it. They just played their game and played how they train.

“I was really impressed. It’s not easy for a young player to play in a big game for a big club. A lot of players get nervous and lose confidence, but I didn’t see it in these players.”
