(Video) Incredible first-half: Liverpool lead the way after five goals, four headers, and one horrendous error

We went into the break with a 3-2 lead over Crystal Palace after a dramatic and entertaining first half at Selhurst Park.

The scoring was opened by Emre Can after just 16 minutes. Coutinho and Moreno combined wonderfully on the left flank, and the big German slotted home with a well-placed finish.

The lead didn’t last long. A horrendous error by Dejan Lovren saw him slice the ball high into the air, allowing James McArthur to beat Karius to the ball and head into an empty net.

Lovren redeemed himself almost immediately as his rose highest to power home Phil Coutinho’s corner in the 22nd minute.

Amazingly, Lovren was then at fault again as Palace snatched an equaliser. McArthur was once again the scorer, as he beat Lovren to Zaha’s cross.

As the clocked ticked towards the break, Matip restored our lead. The goal came from a corner for a second time, and the summer signed was left unmarked to nod in.
