A draw that feels like a loss, that one.
Liverpool battered Southampton today, but couldn’t score the goal which would have given us a deserved win. We had all the ball and all the chances, but Roberto Firmino and Nathaniel Clyne missed sitters in the second and we couldn’t find the breakthrough.
Loris Karius didn’t have a single save to make, which is testament to how defensively Claude Puel set his side out.
Still, for now, we’re top of the table and need to focus on the positives rather than the negatives. It’s Sunderland next week in the Premier League – they’re playing much better but at home – we should be able to put them to the sword.

A rain-soaked away field for the #souliv 0-0 draw today. The clean sheet keeps us tied at the top of the table for now…

Not sharp as usual, but one point is better than no point at all. Let’s focus on the next match. @LFC #YNWA #SOULIV

We are making progress! Klopp maybe should have made subs earlier but I will not start to question him! #LFC

Hats off to Coutinho and Firmino for completing 90 minutes there. A week off for them now. Will be nice and fresh for Sunderland next week.

That Firmino chance is still haunting me though, awful miss

You can clearly see who’s had the most and least minute on Brazil duty this game. Firmino everywhere, Coutinho looks tired.

Matip and Lovren outstanding today. Matip barely wasted a pass, never flustered, read the game, fantastic. Lovren showed what he was made of

It’s a testament to how much Klopp has done at this club that we’re top of the table and not fully satisfied. Always striving for better.
