LFC XI v Wolves: Randall at right-back as Klopp takes big gamble

With Chelsea visiting Anfield in the Premier League on Tuesday, Jurgen Klopp is backing Liverpool’s backup players to do a job in the FA Cup today against Wolves.

He’s starting with Roberto Firmino and Gini Wijnaldum, but these are the only two likely to start against the title favourites in three days’ time. The proximity of the next match explains his selection, in many ways.

Loris Karius starts again, while Trent Alexander-Arnold is given a rest at right-back, with the inexperienced Connor Randall used instead. Elsewhere Joe Gomez celebrates his five-year contract extension with a start, and Alberto Moreno deputises for James Milner, as always.

Kevin Stewart misses out in the middle, with Lucas holding, which will hopefully allow Ovie Ejaria and Wijnaldum some freedom.

Up top the wonderfully talented Ben Woodburn gets another chance alongside two internationals in Firmino and an out form Divock Origi.
