Massive bid could be submitted for Liverpool ace on deadline day

It looks like Mamadou Sakho will finally depart Liverpool, with Sam Allardyce’s Crystal Palace trying to sign our out of favour Frenchman before the window ‘slams’ shut.

This is according to Sky Sports, who recognise that we want a permanent sale and will not accept a loan deal having already rejected Southampton’s approach for one last week.

Liverpool have put a £20m asking price on the 26-year-old’s head and it’s that kind of money which Palace will need to pay if they want the powerhouse centre-back.

The Eagles spent £32m on Christian Benteke in the summer, so they’re not afraid to spend big on out of favour Liverpool stars. Sky Sports Kaveh Solhekol says price might be an issue, but considering they’ve just spent £26m on Patrick van Aanholt and Jeffrey Schlupp, we’re sure they’ll find a way…

Many Reds would have liked Jurgen Klopp to reintegrate Sakho back into the squad, but the German hasn’t given him a single appearance all season and the best we can now hope for is a tidy transfer fee.
