James Pearce names four internationals Liverpool will sell this summer

Respected Liverpool correspondent James Pearce, who provides reliable information for the Echo, has claimed Liverpool will definitely sell Daniel Sturridge and Mamadou Sakho in the summer, while we’re likely to offload Lucas and Alberto Moreno as well.

“A lot will depend on where LFC finish and what kind of offers come in for those players who aren’t guaranteed starters going forward,” Pearce told Anfield Nation.

“I’d expect Klopp to sell Sturridge and Sakho. I’m sure Lucas will have a few offers of more regular football elsewhere and it wouldn’t surprise me if Moreno left.”

Sturridge’s time seems sadly up.

LFC’s 2017/18 kit could look mighty different (some think it’ll be blue & white…)

The forward is not in Jurgen Klopp’s first-choice starting XI and appears to have lost his legs that made him such a dynamic, exciting attacker in 2013/14. Injuries have taken away his best years, and we truly want him to go to a club where he’s an automatic starter so he maximises what his body has left to give him.

Sakho’s doing excellently for Crystal Palace and will surely earn us a tidy transfer fee, too. Many would rather he stayed, but it’s not going to happen under Jurgen Klopp and we should simply hope he continues to impress from now until the end of the season to increase sell-on value.

Moreno’s barely been used this term and might want first-team football. He’s an adequate backup, but his future depends on whether he can deal with a continued spot on our bench or not.

Lucas is our longest serving player, and like Moreno, his future depends on whether he’s content with a substitute role or wants first-team football elsewhere.
