Liverpool’s unbeaten record against the Premier League’s top six clubs this season has been well-publicised by the media yet we still feel it deserves more praise.
Doing the double over Arsenal, beating Chelsea away from home, beating both Manchester City and Tottenham at Anfield all mark outstanding achievements in a season plagued with frustration.
Reflecting on the performances from Jurgen Klopp’s men during these games poses as a timely reminder of what an unstoppable attacking force the Reds are capable of being at times. The 16 goals have come from players all over the pitch. Add a top class striker to our ranks in the summer and imagine what we would be capable of next year.
The opening day win against Arsenal set the tone for the standard we went on to expect from those in Red each week. Intensity, pace, aggression and goals. For the first few months of the season, Liverpool were without question the most entertaining side and the team our rivals feared playing most.
Bolstering this squad in the summer by bringing in some adequate options on the bench will undoubtedly make us title contenders once again. The 16 goals against the top six prove that, on our day, there is little chance of stopping us.
