Everton boss Koeman makes bold team selection for Liverpool clash

Everton are set to start Matty Pennington in defence today alongside Mason Holgate, with Dominic Calvert-Lewin playing in the front-three.

The Echo claims that because of Ramiro Funes Mori and Seamus Coleman’s injuries, Ronald Koeman is siding with youth at Anfield.

Our rivals have Phil Jagielka on the books, but news is that Pennington will play alongside the ageing Englishman and Ashley Williams in a back three.

Morgan Schneiderlin is also ruled out injured, while James McCarthy is also out.

However, the Toffees still have the likes of Romelu Lukaku, Ross Barkley and Kevin Mirallas available – three excellent players who are capable of hurting us.

Liverpool have the option of choosing Ben Woodburn, but we reckon Jurgen Klopp will go with Lucas Leiva or Divock Origi and mix up the formation accordingly.

Adam Lallana, Jordan Henderson and Daniel Sturridge are out, meaning the boss needs to be inventive.

Hopefully, whoever starts can put Pennington and co. to the sword.
