Jamie Carragher’s combined Liverpool and Everton XI ahead of the Merseyside Derby contains six reds and five blues.
Our former centre-back has named his ideal lineup (cited in the Express) ahead of today’s lunchtime clash, which will be crucial for our chances of a top four finish.
Prominent Liverpool players who miss out include Adam Lallana and Jordan Henderson, but our former centre-back was only picking players available to play today – or you would assume both the Englishman would make the cut…
Here’s who he went for:
Liverpool v Everton XI: Mignolet, Clyne, Matip, Jagielka, Baines, Gueye, Barkley, Firmino, Mane, Lukaku, Coutinho.
It’s not often Mignolet makes combined XIs, but Joel Robles isn’t up to much! We’d actually have Dejan Lovren over Phil Jagielka at this stage of the Everton man’s career too.
Gueye is a talent to be fair, and there’s no arguing Lukaku or Barkley.
Hopefully by about 2:30 today, a few more reds will have staked their claim…
