Today serves as a reminder that some things are more important than football.
The manner in which rivalries are temporarily forgotten and fans come together to remember the 96 men, women and children who lost their lives at a football match 28 years ago today is frankly incredible.
The 96 will remain forever in the hearts of football fans and Liverpool supporters in particular. Not only is it a day to pay tribute to those who never returned from the match but it is also a day to remember the survivors, the subsequent 28-year-long fight for justice and the resilience, courage and determination that made such a battle possible.
Fans have taken to social media in their numbers to honour the 96 that will never be forgotten.
My thoughts & prayers go out to everyone affected by the Hillsborough disaster, we will never forget the 96.
Justice for the 96!
