Carragher’s intriguing Premier League Team of the Year: 3-4-3 formation

Posted by

Jamie Carragher named his Premier League Team of the Year on Sky Sports last night, and in truth, we don’t have many arguments – even if no Liverpool player makes his XI.

Our former centre-back has gone with the 3-4-3 formation used nearly all campaign by champions Chelsea, whose players naturally make up much of his side.

David de Gea seems an automatic pick in any Team of the Year between the sticks, and we’d honestly love to see how United would have done over the past few seasons without him…

The three defenders he chooses are probably the three best in the country, but the selections of Christian Eriksen and David Silva are debatable. Would we have those two over Sadio Mane and Coutinho at Liverpool? Definitely not.

Up top, Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez walk in and Harry Kane’s goal:game ratio is better than Romelu Lukaku’s.

A decent team, but we really hope to see some more Reds in next term.
