Liverpool starlet Rhian Brewster takes step closer to lifting silverware

Rhian Brewster has moved a step closer to ensuring one Liverpool star lifts a trophy this season by reaching the  European Championship final with England’s U17s.

The striker played a full game on Tuesday as his side beat Turkey 2-1 to set up a meeting with Spain, who progressed having overcame Germany 4-2 on penalties after their semi-final had ended goalless.

Brewster has netted three times in the tournament, two of which came in the opening 3-1 win over Norway with his other strike coming in England’s 4-0 thrashing of Ukraine.

Victory in Friday’s showdown will be a great achievement to top off what has been an exciting season for the Reds starlet.

The teenager’s swift progress has seen him make the step up from Liverpool’s U18s to the U23s as well as also participating in first team training and earning a place on the bench for the senior side’s recent game against Crystal Palace at Anfield.

Brewster has been tipped for a bright future as one of many promising young stars to have emerged from the club’s youth system within the last year.

He has led the line well for his country so far in the competition and will be looking to add to his tally come Friday’s game. Best of luck, Rhian.
