Guardiola puts spanner in Liverpool’s transfer works

Manchester City are keen on £60m-rated Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang, Sky Sports claim.

According to their report, Pep Guardiola thinks the world is currently lacking in elite strikers and wants to secure one of the planet’s few marquee forwards…

This is despite already having Sergio Aguero, Raheem Sterling, Gabriel Jesus, Leroy Sane and Bernardo Silva as options in attack.

Sky mention Liverpool’s interest, but claim reports we’re set to make a £60m offer ourselves are likely wide of the mark.

Aubameyang scored 42 goals in all competitions last term, backing up his jaw-dropping 2015/16 form.

He’s incredibly quick and an instinctive finisher and would walk into any attack on the planet bar perhaps Barcelona’s.

Jurgen Klopp used to manager the Gabonese attacker at Borussia Dortmund, bringing him to Germany from France, in fact.

They still have a good relationship, but we need to fix our defence before worrying about new centre-forwards.
