Liverpool the most likely destination for wantaway Premier League star

After completing the signing of winger Mohamed Salah, Liverpool could now turn to Arsenal as they look to kick on with the rest of their summer transfer business.

The Londoners are ready to sell Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain to the Reds with the wantaway midfielder likely to leave the Emirates having not yet signed a new deal, reports the Independent.

Oxalde-Chamberlain finds himself on Jurgen Klopp’s transfer wishlist with the German an admirer of his pace, power, athleticism and versatility.

Reports surfaced earlier in the year that the Englishman was open to a move elsewhere after growing frustrated over limited opportunities under Arsene Wenger in his preferred central-midfield role.

It seems Klopp could be prepared to offer him that with the Reds boss keen to add an all-action utility man in aid of bolstering the squad’s strength in depth and reinforcing the spine of the team.

Signing the former Southampton man is expected to cost upwards of £20million and it appears Liverpool are in pole position to secure the 23-year-old’s services with Anfield being tipped as his most likely destination.

Despite Arsenal enduring a mixed 2016/2017 campaign, Oxlade-Chamberlain proved to be one of his team’s standout performers and gave Liverpool fans good reason to believe Klopp could be the man to unlock his full potential.

The technical and physical attributes are in place for him to thrive on Merseyside and under the manager who implements the high intensity football he is so suited to.
