Can this really be true?
According to many on Twitter, there’s been murmurings that Pep Guardiola travelled to Liverpool and met Coutinho to sell him the delights of Barcelona.
The rumour suggests that Manchester City’s manager took time out of his busy schedule to ‘tap up’ Coutinho for his former club, for whom he played and managed for two decades – with the aim of weakening Liverpool – one of his rivals for the Premier League title this season.

It’s a good story, but not one we entirely trust yet – until proper sources confirm it.
Guardiola currently has a poor relationship with Barca’s board, so would he really be doing their dirty work for them when he’s preparing for a Premier League campaign he essentially has to win to keep his job?
We’re skeptical, to say the least…
But if anything, this story proves what we’ve noticed all summer: that nearly all stories regarding transfers need to be taken with a large pinch of salt.
