Predicted LFC XI v Hoffenheim: Robertson keeps spot, Sturridge dropped

Liverpool are hosting Hoffenheim tomorrow evening, knowing we’ll go through providing we concede less than two goals…

We beat the Germans 2-1 in the away leg, although it could have been far more comfortable had we not conceded late on.

Still, we’re in a strong position and it would be a travesty if we failed to qualify for the Group Stages after winning last week.

Simon Mignolet’s a guaranteed starter between the sticks, while Trent Alexander-Arnold should come back in at right-back in place of Joe Gomez. Andrew Robertson was so good at left-back versus Crystal Palace, we’re convinced he’ll keep his spot on the other side.

Ragnar Klavan was actually good against the Eagles, but we can see regular first-choice Dejan Lovren taking his spot alongside Joel Matip.

In midfield, Jordan Henderson will hold, with rested Emre Can likely to come in alongside him. The final spot is either James Milner’s or Gini Wijnaldum’s. We’ll go for the Dutchman, although would prefer the vice-captain.

Up top, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane will surely flank Roberto Firmino, more comfortable in a central role – which would make Daniel Sturridge a bench option.
