Tabloids claim Liverpool to make shock move for Man. City legend

Liverpool are keeping tabs on David Silva’s contract situation at Manchester City, reports multiple publications including the Manchester Evening News.

The brilliant Spaniard’s deal at the Etihad expires in 2019 and hasn’t yet agreed to an extension – but in all honesty – we think he’ll put pen to paper soon.

He’s one of the first names in Pep Guardiola’s lineup and there’s no way they’d let him leave to a rival.

Jurgen Klopp probably does rate him incredibly highly (who wouldn’t?) but there’s about as much chance as us signing Kevin de Bruyne or Raheem Sterling back.

Besides, we’re pretty well stocked in terms of attacking midfielders.

Adam Lallana and Coutinho are due back after the international break and have their work cut out getting back in the side, considering how well Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Mo Salah and Sadio Mane played against West Ham on Saturday.

As we’ve said hundreds of times before, it’s the defence and probably the midfield we need to improve – not the forward line!
