Why is Michael Owen an official Liverpool ambassador when people like Daniel Agger and Jerzey Dudek are not?
Last night, our former striker, who ran his contract down and left for Real Madrid – before eventually joining Manchester United – spoke gleefully about his time at Old Trafford on Canal+.
Owen was directing his comments at Karim Benzema, thanking the Frenchman for signing for Real Madrid in 2007, which allowed him to move to United.
“I was pleading with Benzema to go to Real Madrid, so I could sign for United – so thank you to him!” Owen said.

Naturally, it rubbed up Liverpool fans the wrong way.
Here’s some of the comments to the video we tweeted…
And believe us – we’ve edited out some of the nastier ones.
High time the club did something, isn’t it?
Let’s petition the club to get rid of him.

Done and dusted. I really hope it can happen soon. He is a genuine twat and scum. A complete and utter embarrassment to our family and club.

Jan Kromkamp would do a better job

This isn’t even an isolated incident. I’m very surprised he’s still associated with the club.

The way he shit on us in 2004 was enough for me never mind joining that lot. It’s an insult that he’s an ambassador. Should offer it to someone more rewarding like Hyypia.
