Liverpool boosted by positive Jurgen Klopp update

Jurgen Klopp looks set to retain his place on the touchline this weekend after overcoming recent health concerns.

The Liverpool manager spent a large part of Wednesday in hospital after falling ill and following instructions from the club’s medical team to receive a check up.

The German subsequently missed the evening premiere of new film ‘Kenny’, focused around the life of Anfield legend Kenny Dalglish.

After tests determined his illness was nothing serious, Klopp returned to training on Thursday ahead of Saturday’s clash with Southampton, according to the Telegraph.

Liverpool will also be boosted by the return of Adam Lallana, who recently completed his recovery from a thigh injury that has seen him out of action since August.

The midfielder’s reintegration has coincided with that of Jordan Henderson, with the skipper also set to become available again having been sidelined him for the past three weeks.

Klopp will also welcome back Philippe Coutinho after the Brazilian recovered from a minor injury whilst on international duty.

A squad that has so often been depleted by injuries this season is gradually beginning to re-shape as Klopp’s men look to kick on over the winter period.

The emphatic 4-1 win over West Ham marks a potential spring-board for the Reds to step up their pursuit of a top four spot.

Welcome back, Jurgen.
