Jamie Carragher is as blown away by Mo Salah as all of us.
The Egyptian winger scored two goals today against Spurs, the second of which was breathtaking – and if it wasn’t for John Moss – it would have been a deserved winner.
Salah got the ball on the edge of the area with a number of Spurs defenders around him, but he wriggled through the lot and slammed into the roof of the net past Hugo Lloris.
According to Carra, who was speaking on Sky Sports after the game, the only player in world football capable of scoring such a goal is Lionel Messi.

This term, Messi has 27 goals, the same as our flyer following Salah’s brace.
We’re not suggesting Mo is as good as the best player we’ve ever seen play the game, but right now, he’s of a genuinely elite standard and on current form, is one of the world’s top ten.
