Barcelona will sell Ousmane Dembele this summer, providing the right offer comes in, Spanish journalist Eduardo Inda has written on his website OkDiario.
He claims in no uncertain terms that with Antoine Griezmann almost certain to arrive, Barca will accept €100m (£87m) for the 21-year-old Frenchman – worried that his value will continue to diminish once his countryman joins and his minutes reduce even further.
In 2017/18, Dembele played just 1,220 minutes, hardly contributing to Barca’s La Liga title, frustrating supporters in the process.
But the France international’s talent is very obvious and he has the potential to become one of the world’s most feared attackers – thanks to his incredible speed, two-footed skill and penchant for genius.
Spanish radio station RAC1 [translated by Metro] claimed in the middle of this month that Barca had offered Dembele to Liverpool, with Jurgen Klopp a known-admirer.
We already have Sadio Mane and Mo Salah in the wide positions, but Real Madrid’s bench includes Marcos Asensio and Gareth Bale and they’ve just won their fourth Champions League in five years.
Strength in depth and elite options in attacking positions is essential if Liverpool want to progress to the next level and actually start winning trophies rather than impressing the neutrals.
