He’s become something of a forgotten name at Liverpool in recent times, but Daniel Sturridge is seemingly taking no breaks this summer after being overlooked for England’s World Cup squad.
While it is perhaps little surprise the 28-year-old didn’t get the nod for the trip to Russia after making just six appearances in an injury-hit loan spell with West Brom, you’ve got to wonder what he could have contributed when Danny Welbeck gets a call-up instead…
Anyway, who knows what the future holds for Sturridge at LFC, but at least he seems to be focusing on getting fit again as he works out with fellow Premier League players Nathan Redmond and Nathaniel Chalobah in LA.
We don’t have much in the way of backup for Bobby Firmino up front at present, so even if Jurgen Klopp hasn’t given Danny much of a look-in so far, it’s worth remembering his quality when he is fit and firing.
Let’s hope this can be the start of a revival for him at Anfield!
